Protein-Packed Vegetarian Summer Dinners

A vegetarian dish can be packed with protein and still be delicious. There are other sources of protein other than meat. Beans and vegetables are also packed with protein. Although you don’t get as much when you eat meat, protein in beans and vegetables can suffice your protein needs and satisfy your palate at the same time. 

Bagel Hummus Wraps

Bagel hummus wraps go beyond your breakfast grab. It is a beloved treasure of vegans and vegetarians. Hummus is one of the powerhouse source of protein for those who are going for a plant-based diet but needs ample amount of protein to survive daily activities. Simply top it with some vegetables for some extra kick of fibre and wrap in a tortilla with hummus spread, protein-packed dinner will be served. 

Chickpea Salad

Chickpea contains fibre and protein which is a practical choice if you are going vegetarian or vegan. Prepare your chickpeas, some mayo, sweet relish, and yellow mustard, you will have a spread filled with most of the nutrients you need in a day. You can spread your chickpea salad with some bread or lettuce and pack it with tofu, your lunch will be as good as ordering an overpriced vegetarian meal in some artisan cafes. 

White Bean Salad

White bean salad is typically mixed with pantry staples and some fresh crunchy tomatoes. It is a simple meal jammed packed with whatever is inside your pantry. You can opt for canned peas so you need not cook them and serve them with some garlic bread. 

No-Cook Mediterranean Pizza

Instead of spreading tomato sauce on your pizza, why not a hummus based sauce with loads of veggies? Pizza doesn’t always have to have meat or yummy pepperonis. A no-cook pizza can be made by spreading a good amount of hummus, some fresh vegetables, and feta cheese!

No-Cook Black Bean Soup

During summer, hot soup can be quite a lot to take in. Cold soups are now paving their way to the mix and it is satisfying. Simply throw in some black beans, veggies, and spices of your choice into the blender and blend them high for a good couple of minutes. 

Vegan Collard Wraps

Vegan collard wraps are the best way to enjoy a light snack in the afternoon. You can pack it with some avocado to add a creamy layer into your wrap then add some bell pepper, pecans, and other flavours you want to incorporate. Tamari and garlic specifically elevate the flavour of vegan collard wraps. 

Raw Vegan Chili

Chile can be vegan and you don’t need meat to achieve that sumptuous taste. Simply combine walnuts, mushrooms, cumin, coriander and tamari, your vegan chilli will delight your mouth. You can also add some cornucopia of vegetables and some fresh juice, and you will have yourself a bowl of summer chilli goodness. 

There are other ways to get the protein you need other than opting for meat. Although meat can be the most effective and easiest way to garner the protein you need for your body, it can lead to some medical issues if you eat too much of it without the balance of other food groups. So, if you feel like you’ve had too much meat these days, try to add a little bit of spice into your diet with these summer vegan dishes.
